  • Adding 3D image sequence, can’t get rid of transparent border along top and bottom.

    Hey guys,

I’m totally new to Sony Vegas, so please bear with me on this beginner question and try to explain things in a step by step fashion, thanks!

I rendered out a sequence of .PNGs out of a 3D program at 640×360, and then created a new file in Sony Vegas, giving it those same dimensions. I then imported my image sequence with no transparency so I could add a background. I dragged it from the Project Media tab on to the timeline.

Then I added a background and noticed there’s about a 5 pixel transparent border on the top and bottom of the video, which shows the background in those areas.. and it renders like that as well.

When I open the separate .PNGs in Windows Picture Viewer it doesn’t have a border.. the image is right to the edge. Same with the preview in Sony’s Project Media tab.

Anyone have any idea what’s going on? Any help would be much appreciated.

If you open the pan/crop window of a PNG file, right-click in the preview area and select MATCH OUTPUT ASPECT, would that solve the problem?

Well I figured it out. Upon import I had to change the Pixel aspect ratio from 1 (square) to NTSC DV (0.9)

Your method worked too, but this way is easier.

    Thanks!
