I Recently reloaded Pro 9c on a HP Win7 os.
Vegas works fine but my capture thumbnail clips will not come up,
Is there something Im not doing right or is this a win os issue?
I tried everything and no luck.

Vegas Pro 9.0c works fine on Windows 7. What is a “capture thumbnail clip”? Is this an image sequence? Have you loaded it before but it doesn’t work now? I’m not clear on what you are trying to do or how you are trying to do it.

It’s the clips in the capture bin down below after you load a video clip, the icon comes up but no thumbnail view and it used to on XP.
I want to see my clips after in downlaod my video.

What kind of clips are you capturing? DV or HDV? I’m running tapeless so I haven’t captured anything on Windows 7 yet.

I think we are still not clear on what you are looking for.
When you capture DV, if you use VidCap and firewire you will have either one clip if scene detection is off or a number of clips if scene detection is on (and you paused the cam frequently during taping)These should show up in your Project media bin. Whether they are thumbnails or just listings depends on the setting you have made. They show up in the “filmstrip” (which I assume is the timeline since Vegas does not have a filmstrip) when you drag them from the project media bin to the timeline. (Among other ways)

Hi Terry, This is just in the video capture bin after I capture a scene a square box comes up but no video is in that box to show me what scene I just loaded in. It appears a flim strip icon fills the box and no video clip, I have no problems with this in win.XP
Project media is fine theres the vid clip there.
Im not sure if this is a win.7 os problem.

Thanks for the come back and have a great Thanksgiving.

Ref. mail about disappearing Video Event thumbnails – did you solve this?

If no-one else gets what you’re on about Bruce, I do and it’s really getting on my nerves! I’ve never had this problem before either, but I’m working on our new 64bit Windows 7 machine and the thumnails on the tracks keep vanishing – so it’s difficult to navigate around the timeline with a load of white boxes.

Is this something to do with Apple Quicktime? The files causing me grief are coming off a Canon 5D MkII. They work and edit fine on our XP machines.

I’ve already discovered that Quicktime is running half-cocked on 64 bit PC’s – could this be the problem? Interestingly it’s not happening all the time. This suggests that it could be some sort of Service failing – we’ve had this problem with a Wacom tablet which keeps ‘vanishing’ from the system under Windows 7.

    Any ideas out there…?

Bruz was talking about thumbnauls in the capture bin. If you are talking about thumbnails on the events on the timeline, you can try Ctrl + Shift + W
