Vegas has a problem in communicating with plug-ins. Plug-ins can see only one frame. So time-dependent plug-ins like the Boris FX stabilizer don’t work properly in Vegas.
I guess that the PI plugin for Vegas would face the same problem.Theo

Joe,
In the effect you mention (fuse 03a?), the smoke ‘size over life’ is zero until 65% of its life. And the ‘size over life’ of the sparks is zero until 88% of their life.

No, it is not a field issue. I will rebuild the project from scratch and see if that solves the problem.

If it is not possible to import the layers of a photoshop (.psd) file on seperate tracks of Boris FX, would it be possible to do this in Boris RED?

I don’t understand your comment to Franz about uncompressed avi. The problem of Franz is that his output file is only half the expected length. I see exactly the same in PI 3.0.4.1: the output file is only half the length as would be expected from my settings. I’m working in PAL and use the Lagarith codec.
I hope that Alan Lorence has a solution for this.Theo

You can simply open Boris RED from within Vegas by applying Boris RED as a transition between two clips or by adding it as an effect to an event on the timeline from the FX tab (just as you apply any other effect).
Or you can use RED as a standalone if you wish…Theo

And what about the import of photoshop layers into the keyframer of Boris FX? Is that also not possible?

In Graffitty 5.3, when I type the tilde first and then the n, the tilde will appear on top of the n. It even works on this forum: ñ

What about the possibility to import multiple layers from psd (photoshop) files into Vegas on separate tracks? Is that something to expect in the near future?
