I am exporting a video from after effects in uncompressed AVI format.

It is 75 seconds long, or 1800 frames.

When it is imported into particle illusion, it seems to misinterpretation the video- the end comes at frame 900, even when it is set to 24 fps like that video.

    What gives?

I wish that after effects plugin would come out. This is very annoying to deal with- the moving in and out between programs.

    Franz,

I have never used an uncompressed avi I wonder if that is the issue? Try a lossless compressed avi, if you are worried about quality issues.

    Franz,

Quote from Alan “…Lagarith uses lossless compression (like a ZIP file). Uncompressed just doesn’t make sense…”

    John,

I don’t understand your comment to Franz about uncompressed avi. The problem of Franz is that his output file is only half the expected length. I see exactly the same in PI 3.0.4.1: the output file is only half the length as would be expected from my settings. I’m working in PAL and use the Lagarith codec.
I hope that Alan Lorence has a solution for this.

If you have a 30 frame video, does pI3 see it as 15 frames long?

Is it a fields issue? (Try rendering in AE without fields and see if that fixes it.)

    Alan.

No, it is not a field issue. I will rebuild the project from scratch and see if that solves the problem.
