Yes, I did. Well, as it turns out only 3 of the clips can’t be imported. All others are ok.

Not really, I don’t really know what to type in the search tab to find an exact answer to my question. Can you help me on this?

Guys, I can’t thank you enough for the responses and the info. Sure, as you pointed out, the switch to a different platform requires time to learn the new stuff. But just to be clear, when I was talking about productivity dropping, I was exclusively referring to the capabilities of one software compared to the other and how easily they are carried out. For example, say I want to make a PiP effect. I’m sure this is done differently. The question is whether it’s faster and easier in FCP. Keeping in mind that FCP runs on OS X rather than XP or Vista, I’m sure I won’t miss much, but I needed to know from people with actual experience on it.

[walter biscardi] “There’s no such thing as a “flawless workflow.” There are always issues and a good editor finds ways to work through them.”
Well, Walter, if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years it’s exactly that and being able to work my way around the problem has always been one of my strong characteristics. But there’s “flawless” and there’s “flawless”. And what I mean by this is that I can’t afford my possible transition to any new work environment or format, to become the reason of new problems that will reduce my speed or productivity, not even by 1%. That’s why I need to know in advance what’s the deal with this certain Mac Pro. Anyway, thanks for the tips and one more question. If Maxx Digital is not an option, will a RAID within the Mac cover my needs for the moment? What would you recommend?

Thanks, guys. So, what type of RAID would you recommend for flawless workflow?

Thanks Rafael. I’ll consider more RAM and I think FCP will work well with it. Still, anyone with experience on AVC Intra? Any help is appreciated.

Wow, Mark, thanks for the advice. Tried it and it works great! Generally speaking, is the DNxHD 90 the optimum setting to get the best quality on both capture and export of HD 720p material?

What’s the way to transcode HDV to DNxHD? Do I have to re-capture my material? In the settings tab, I’ve pre-set all Media Creation tabs to DNxHD 90x? Did I do right?

Yap..! It was as simple as that. Stupid me! Ok. Here’s my other question: Assuming I have added a music track on channels A1 and A2 and several parts of a narration track on A3 an A4. If I add keyframes to my music tracks accordingly, in order for the music to rise and drop in between narration in and out points, is there a way to adjust music volume for all of these spaces in between (i.e. only for the parts that the music level would drop)? I’m guessing it has to do with in and out points, but I believe this would also affect the parts that I don’t want to adjust. Right? Any suggestions?

Something like that, but also there is no effect to render or so the software says… A fade in may turn out to be simple, but if the problem persists how will it be possible to adjust audio if, say, I want to add narration and simply want to add keyframes in order to alter the volume up and down? I can’t understand what I’m doing wrong… Could it be that in the fast menu I set it to Auto Pan?
