The capture device really does not matter, according to most of the people here that I have heard. Are you sure it was shot 16:9 in camera? Those project settings look correct.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Actually, I captured within premiere, using the Panasonic 24P project settings since that is waht it was shot on. My entire timeline is now 90% AE project files since I did all my color correction there. That way any chages I can make on the fly and it gets updated in my premiere timeline. Very handy way to work! The black frames only started showing up within the last 10 renders or so. I changed nothing. However, the black frames are each at a chapter point. Not sure about teh horizantal lines since I have never seen them myself and I have viewed it on a number of different systems and configurations. Let me know if you need more info. Thanks for your help!

I shot my movie on a 100A in 16:9. It looks as if your project settings are incorrect. I had no problem with my 16:9, it has always displayed properly. re-create a new project with correct settings, such as 16:9, PAL if that is waht your using.

Keylight should be able to handle that, depending on how good or bad the footage is. If you want to up the footage and your backgrounf, I will give it a shot. And since it is DV, you may want to try DVMatte Pro. It is designed specifically for DV footage and I have that plugin to use also.

I had a similar problem. I had encoded using Cleaner XL and when I brought it into Encore, it wanted to re-encode. There was no real quality difference, but it took longer and it was re-compressed to some extent. I used Main Concepts stand alone version and there were no issues. Sounds like it maybe the GOP header issue. Perhaps the two handle it differently???

Thanks for all the input guys. I know there is no “Magic Number” for day rates, but I needed a ballpark adn I know have one. I am by no means a a pro with AE yet, but fairly efficient with it doing certain things.

Thanks to everyone who posted here, I really love this community!
