Sorry for all the posts. I wish Creative Cow would update their forums to this century. That way I could edit my posts and most active ones would be kept current and such.
Anyway, if you want to see how I used the info given me here, go to https://www.fiddlerfilms.com then click the “Macbeth 1932” logo down at the bottom and there are links to the Windows Media Version there.
I think the effect turned out great.

Thanks Ed. I already did what I needed with the first method, and presented it in class this morning. The class loved it. But I’m going to take a look at this one too, just to learn. So thanks.

Maybe I’m just missing something, but I don’t think the newsletter says you need to set the layer one compositing mode (not the parent/child compostiting mode) to Multiply (mask) in order for it to work. Maybe that’s just with newer versions of vegas (than when the newsletter was written), but you have to do this or it won’t work. At first I was getting really frustrated, because I was doing everything it said, but not getting anything other than the white mask. Then I figured it out.
Not complaining, just letting people know, in case someone else trys this.

You on the development team Dropout? If so, cool, you guys are awesome.
Though you said “unmodified” I’m pretty sure I modified the bitrate and it synched fine, its just when I modified the vertical resolution.

Sweet! They implemented 640×480 export for iPod! A feature I was really hopping/waiting for!
