    Danny,
I was wondering why you removed the video. Thought iot might be interesting. But after reading the posts, I understand. Some people really don’t want to learn, they want to complain.

I have a feeling the client would not like to have the full thing out on the airwaves.

Probably with After Effects or something like Heroglyph.
It could be done in Vegas but would take a lot of work and maybe a little help from Photoshop.

  • If you cannot chromakey out the wall maybe you could use a color corrector to change the color of the wall to something more keyable???

i cant get a decent look at what the final product will be before a lengthy render

You could try just doing a quick ram render of a section to check it.
Also try setting your text resolution at twice the project resolution.

Why not use the Sony Border fx if he just wants a solid border around each picture, even with different pictures?

If you have another 1080 50i HDV cam, probably yes. Hows that for a definitive answer?

I would think that if you still have the Z7 that you should capture the video yourself. Just attach a firewire (iLink) from the camera to the computer. HDV should capture as an M2T file. Your computer may be borderline for editing this natively but you could use Gearshift or some such and edit proxies OK.

If by ‘standard dvds’ you mean recordable dvds, it appears that sometimes there is a problem capturing from these. You use the ‘import dvd camcorder disc’ from the file menu right?

Create your title in BT. When you render it out to the size you want use Uncompressed avi with transparency (PNG with transparency will work too but you need to import it as a series of stills). Save the file. Open Vegas. Find your saved file from BT and bring it into Vegas. Place it on the uppermost track. (Now heres the secret) Right click the title event and chose properties and then media and then ‘turn on’ the alpha channel – probably premultiplied dirty and click OK. Voila your title is superimposed over thee lower tracks.
