Does the camera create a particular folder structure on the card? If so then copy the whole card as is and DO NOT MODIFY ANYTHING. Then use Premiere’s media browser to browse the folder for media.

Use Premiere’s media browser.

The easiest way would probably be to keyframe a hue/saturation effect to go from -100 to 0.

I’m a bit late with this, but this was fixed. Just install the latest version of the codec from Avid.

You’re probably running out of RAM when you’re using other applications when rendering. That will stop the render.

Difference matte works for locked down shots that have same lighting in them.

Why wouldn’t you just copy that to a timeline?

AE is not a realtime NLE. If you want to look something in realtime you’ll have to RAM preview it.
