There are rendering services that can put your Maya/Softimage/Houdini/whatever comps in their farms and render stuff for you but they are usually for CG renders. The materials for that kind of work are usually easier to send around instead of footage.

[Bill Davis] “Or will you be able to do all your actual editing without it – then just link up for when you need it for a super-res render or an export? “
No because the GPU is accelerating effects and all kinds of interactions during editing (at least in Premiere) so I prefer having a proper GPU installed. Especially when the latest and greatest Nvidia cards are insanely cheap for the performance they give out.
Also Resolve is using GPU for everything.

It’s called “outsourcing to India”. If you’d have a clean plate of the background (I guess not) you could try a difference key.

It’s called datamoshing. It’s done by breaking the GOP structure of a video file.

The AE out points are inclusive like in Premiere. If you zoom in the timeline you’ll see a small highlighted line after the playhead. That is the frame you are looking at.

[Julie Allen] “My photos are quite large (5506 x 3619), but I”ve used these templates with video”
And the videos you’ve been using are lower resolution compared to the photos. You could save the photos with a lower resolution before importing them to AE.

[Samu Karhu] “Is there any way to decrease .mov export bitrate and make the file smaller? “
That depends completely on the format/codec you’re using. A lot of them have specced settings you can’t overwrite.

I’d wager that it is either a Quicktime codec issue and it’s not playable in those media players or your computer can’t run it in realtime.

Is the jitter in the file or in the playback? If you go through it frame by frame is the jitter there? Can you upload a clip on how it looks?
