Thank you, Robert. I did a dry run, pretty much as you described by eye. Had the camera WB around 5000k, probably too much and I need to experiment. Thanks for you input.

June 22, 2017 at 8:24 pm in reply to: How do I synchronise 2 audio channels within a video clip with FCPX?Thanks, Doug. Yes, that’s what I meant by manual adjustment. I was hoping there was some automated feature that could sync the audio channels in the timeline. I haven’t had a chance to play with any of this due to other work. I may just split the audio into mono wavs using something like Logic Pro, import the delayed one separately, and then sync that to the other channel in the video.

June 17, 2017 at 2:46 pm in reply to: How do I synchronise 2 audio channels within a video clip with FCPX?That was stated poorly: I mean, yes, I have various clips I plan to edit, but within each one, the two channels are recorded out of sync. So as a first step I need to sync those channels within each clip. I’ve never actually utilised multicam, but before I spend time playing with that I wanted to clarify the issue.
Thanks

Thanks.

May 30, 2017 at 6:52 am in reply to: Macro blocks appearing in edited C100 footage in FCPXWell, I couldn’t wait so did that this evening. Unfortunately, it didn’t solve the problem. The event plays perfectly, but what’s in the timeline still has the issue.
However, I think I’ve been barking up the wrong tree entirely. The problem is actually to do with an adjustment layer that I used to colour balance (the trick where you use a blank title generator). When I inactivate that, the footage plays fine. Hmm. I’m not sure if anyone has reported the same issue with this. I like to use adjustment layers as it is more convenient to make global changes with multiple clips and I’m an incorrigible tweaker. May have to rethink my workflow.

May 30, 2017 at 6:02 am in reply to: Macro blocks appearing in edited C100 footage in FCPXThanks, Noah. Fortunately, I still have the original footage on the SD card. Good advice regarding backing up, now I see why. I’ll give this a go tomorrow.

April 22, 2015 at 10:22 pm in reply to: Embarrassingly basic question about importingJoseph; Thanks for joining those dots. I’ll probably go with Pro Res as the editing format for speed on my current rig. Funny that you mention Long-GOP. I’m about to invest in a PXW-X70 having XAVC-L, so I will definitely want to digest that into an easier editing format.

John – thanks for clarifying that. My related question then is, after copying the files over, do I then need to manually convert them to an editable format like Pro Res before adding them to the Media Pool? Or is this something that Resolve can do on the hop, like FCPX?
