i figured out a work around that can log-in your footage thats not transferring correctly using FCP7.
1.) use the free program “HandBrake” and bring in the .MTS clips and Encode them to .mp4
2.) Export the .mp4 clip using MPEG Stream Clip. The export options vary depending on what type of footage you shot.

Then i was able to edit everything in FCP7

  • I’m having a similar issue, I had footage on my Transcend SD card as i checked the footage in my camera before transferring…so i tried to transfer my footage from a card reader onto my hard drive. The transfer crashed and now the card will not open on my computer using a reader. I also put it back into my Panasonic HMC 150 camera and i get a “Check Card’ error message. Is my footage lost or can it still be recovered?

I believe i zoomed out too fast because it happens with two shots and the rest of the video looks fine, i slowed the clip down 75% and I tried smoothcam filter too but that didnt look good either…any other suggestions?
