  • Great advice, Brian. Thanks for taking the time to check it out.

It would be great if there was a way to automatically delete all polygons that are hidden within an object once all objects have been connected. There might be a way but, being a noob, i have no idea other than manually deleting them individually.

I do intend to switch on the nuts and fuse them to the surfaces they’re currently adhering to. But I switched them off for the time being as it really slows down the voronoi fracture. They would be impossible to delete the unseen polygons without some auto-function!

Thanks heaps. I think that might work. But there are currently too many polygons making my nuts so my poor laptop is suffering. so I need to sort that problem out first then see if it all works. Thanks or taking the time to help out!

    Hi Jim,
I tried again by both dragging and selecting but I keep getting this alert “File not found. Please try again”. In fact I can’t even upload a screen grab of the alert. There seems to be a dearth of questions recently that have included a file upload so maybe there’s an issue with the site. Who knows?

    Hi Jim.
I recall I tried that but to no avail. I’m about to upload another project for a forum question so we’ll see if it works. Thanks for replying!

    Hi Brian,
Thanks for having a look. Basically I have no idea what I’m doing. I don’t know how to seperate the textures or how to import settings (if there are setting attached to it). You’re talking to a new level of noob here ☺
I’ve just been opening the model and dragging the material onto the object with no idea about any f the rest.

    Hi Jim,
That’s some good sleuthing! Sure enough, I just disabled the transparency and it seems to be rendering OK (so far).
I don’t know yet what effect this will have on the water’s appearance. Maybe it’ll look rubbish or maybe I can getaway with it.
If you do discover why the transparency is causing this grief please let me know. Until then I’ll see how this looks.

Thanks heaps for your detective work ☺

    Hi,
I have since discovered that it’s the animated water which appears to be the issue. When I delete or switch off the water it renders fine. But, although I can go without the scene of the camera skimming over the water, it would still be nice to know if there’s a way to make it work. Don’t know if this info helps at all!?

    Hi Jim,
Thanks for replying. I dragged my file into this reply window so hopefully you can access it. I uploaded 5 frames stepped every 30 to a render farm and, sure enough, the first 4 frames came back black and frame 120 came back fine. So frames 0, 30, 60, 90 were all black. So apparently the problem isn’t just my computer unable to view so many polygons.

Let me know if you can uncover anything! ☺

    Cheers, Tarn
