Make sure you run Davinci or any program only after you put the command line in the terminal or else it won’t display it with the change.
Here is some of the references I found.

Hey Ryan, You might want to try this work around if you really have to use it.

December 9, 2010 at 7:00 pm in reply to: Any one heard plans to allow the Resolve interface to scale for lower display resolutionsFound the answer on google. This will work in a pinch when I am traveling or away from my Mac Pro and still want to keep working. So here it goes.
Close Resolve.
Now type in the Terminal App:
defaults write -g AppleDisplayScaleFactor 0.85and voilà it shrinks your 15in monitor resolution size 85 percent. The Resolve interface finally fits. It’s a little smaller interface but if you are stuck with a 15in screen like I am, it’s a life saver.
To get your screen size back to normal just type again in the Terminal:
defaults write -g AppleDisplayScaleFactor 1Back to 100 percent.
Note: Any app running during the terminal commands will not be affected so make sure Resolve is closed first.
Obviously this fix isn’t ideal and a desktop computer that is supported by Resolve should be used for any serious color correcting or grading work. However I bought my 15inch before I knew what was supported and what wasn’t and I desperately wanted my 15in i7 to work with Resolve. Hopes this helps someone like it did me. 🙂

I have a 15in i7 Macbook Pro and Resolve on a 15 inch will work in a crunch. It get’s the job done for me when I’m traveling, but I definitely miss all the realtime joy that my Mac Pro offers. As for the Resolve interface, at first it didn’t fit the 15 in screen resolution unless I hooked it up to a external monitor. But then google came to the rescue.

April 23, 2008 at 11:20 pm in reply to: Need expert advice about the best workflow for Canon 24f HDV and Media ComposerI can digitize and edit in FCP fine. It works flawlessly.
But I JUST got my pretty Media Composer and want to stretch these baby’s legs. So I would rather transcode to something else and edit my doc on Avid rather than FCP. -
I have the same exact problem. Haven’t bought the program though. Just using the demo for now. Hopefully an upgrade is coming soon so I can buy the full program.

For me, when I choose to view the foreground in the DVMatte Blast plugin, the foreground layer completely disappears on me. I downloaded the demo as well to check and it does the same thing as my retail version does.
I am using Motion 3 and a 15′ 2.33 Macbook Pro
