  • Ah, yes…the key was that you click the object first, THEN click the shift key. I was used to doing it the other way around. Interesting though: if you have changed the proportions from the original, and you LIKE the new proportions but you simply want to then alter the scale (keeping the same NEW proportions), clicking the shift key will jump it back to its original proportions. A little frustrating, but not a huge deal. Thanks a bunch for taking the time to show me this. It will help a lot.

  • That was it. Thanks, John. I have no idea how i clicked on that, but now i know. And thanks for pointing me to Todd’s stuff. I have seen his first few, but can always use WAY more learning. I’ll watch some more.

    🙂

  • Trying to scale objects/images…and where is the constrain parameter? i realize there is one for each object, but is there a global one that will allow the shift key to work?

March 4, 2014 at 1:29 am in reply to: Disappearing layers and crashing project

I’m having similar problems of disappearing assets, but no crashing (yet). I moved a few of my AE projects, then opened them and most of them open with NOTHING inside! No assets, no comps. Really weird…so even typing “missing” in the dialogue box (which usually works when seeking missing assets) yields nothing. I’ve gone back to a few auto-save versions and the same thing happens.

    Any ideas?

February 9, 2014 at 7:28 am in reply to: Can’t take snapshot in After Effects

…and where does this snapshot go? i’m simply trying to render out a single frame from AE CC, googling for an answer (tried the help menu in AE), and not finding an answer…

Thanks for the reply, Todd…but $30 to un pre-compose? Seems like there oughtta be a button already…

    Anyway, thanks! 🙂

Dang…i answered my own question. It appears to work GREAT for CC. I’ve now imported both an FCP and Motion project and pretty much everything seems intact. Just saved myself a few days work.
