I followed instructions, such as deleting preferences, closing down the program and restarting. It was told to , unistall the Suite, use clean script which will wipe out every Adobe program on my computer. Then reinstall CS5.5 suite and every other adobe program that was removed. I was told the link is broken in AE to browse pre sets.

The last time a few years ago when I followed blindly I almost wiped out my computer. I was smart enough to stop, when I got turned over to the manager, I was given an 800 number that hooked me up with tech in USA. Solved the problem…I lost the number. Maybe it has been discontinued… there you have it

I tried calling the tech support, which happens to be in India. I was told to uninstall the suite, use clean sweep, then reinstall.

I don’t trust their knowledge. Any thoughts?

  • Thanks you Ben,

I knew it was going to be something simple. Sometimes I really feel foolish. It’s hard only until you know…then it’s simple.

Thanks again, this is an awesome forum.

  • I thought I had solved the problem… When I ejected Skype, all was well..then it started all over again fifteen minutes later. Back to asking for recommendations…

  • Problem solved: Skype was open, didn’t know it, Skype running in the background uses resources intermittently. After ejecting the Skype icon from desktop the problem went away ‘Whew’

Actually that is a good point. The card is about 6 months old and I did forget to format. However, when I viewed the card on the camera there where two other shoots on the card. One of them I couldn’t download (which I had forgotten) one did download well. Again, I forgot to format it did not down load. What is intersting (Yes formatting is important, it might be the answer) There where three differrent shoots, two would not log and transfer and one did without a hitch. I ended up using Vegas to download the footage, making AVI and bringing what I needed into FCP. It’s a round about way, shrug. It worked – it was outtakes so I feel I missed the bullet. I now have a note reminding me to fomat, so that never happens again. I am wondering if it is a card defect….or this is going to be one of those bugs that will happen once in a while with the SD cards. I know a lot of people hate them and stick to mini tapes.
