    Thanks Roei!

I discovered that I didn’t have the very latest AE installed, so the panel wasn’t there. After updating, everything is groovy!

I created a motion graphics template, imported it into Premiere, where I got an error saying I didn’t have AE installed. That wasn’t true and have since discovered that I needed to move my Premiere cache file folders to a location without permission issues (I put it in my documents folder). That solved the issue and the template loaded with no problems!

Just thought I’d post that for any others having the same issue…

  • I had an online chat with Adobe help and here is what fixed my problem.

    Home folder
    Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE/opm.db
    Delete this file.
Quit CC Desktop app and restart it.

I’m on a Mac. I think Windows folks have the same file, I just don’t know where to find it.

This cleared up my problem immediately. Hopefully this will help someone else having this issue.

  • I don’t think it has anything to do with Mavericks. I’m seeing the same thing and cannot get this issue resolved. Anybody know of anything we can do?

I tried scaling it a little smaller and also a little larger to penetrate the glass, but neither one worked.

I am using the Physical renderer with the Ray Depth at 15.

The bottom liquid is a different object than the object that is rendering black. I just put a simple white material on it just to test, but it keeps rendering black. I found the beer texture for the bottom object online and just modified it slightly. I just can’t figure out why it works and the other does not.

Any clues for me to know what to try would be wonderful.

    Thanks so much!

Well, I found the problem! I had set my Level of Detail down to 90% for my render and when I set it back to 100%, all was well again! I can’t believe I actually discovered that to be the problem.

Just thought I’d post in case anyone else has the same issue.

Yes, I’m running the latest AE CS5. I’m going to be working with my first R3D files on a really rush project, so I was hoping for that answer!

    Thanks Todd!
