  • Thanks so much!

  • The TC is just reference for the basic users to lead them to the corresponding point on the map. For users with proprietary software, they will be able to click on the map and it will take them to the place in the video. To allow communication between the basic and the advanced users, the TC must be both accurate and consistent.

  • Unfortunately, no. Many will need to view with only quicktime or windows media player.

  • I feared as much. I’m probably the only person in the world that would actually want this kind of feature…

  • That’s exactly what I want!

It may sound crazy… but there is a good reason:

I have geographical data that corresponds to particular frames of video which is all based on timecode. I want to be able to put multiple clips in once sequence for ease of viewing (so the client can open one QuickTime file instead of having to open 50 clips).
I absolutely must maintain the original timecode – if it changes to sequence timecode upon export, the geographic coordinates no longer match up to the video.

Would there be any plug-ins or filters that could do such a thing?

  • Hi Ignasi,

Now that 2 years have gone by since this initial post, I was wondering if you (or anyone else) have come up with a solution to generate a list of all frames numbers in a sequence and their corresponding time-codes? If so, is your program for sale?

I am encountering the same “error: unknown” problem where several clips will transfer, but the majority will not.
I tried trashing preferences, tried log and transfer on 2 separate boxes/separate FCP, and also tried resetting scratch discs… nothing worked.

Any other ideas that someone might have?

    Thank you!

I am having the same problem –
Steve, were you able to resolve this (and how0?
Jeremy, can you explain how to repair in camera?

    Thank so much!

  • Thank you, Dave and Matt. I’ll have to look into this!

  • How accurate do you have to be for this gizmo to work accurately?

The more precise the better! I suppose it would be ok if we were off about a second here or there… but any more and we would certainly run into trouble with everything pairing up nicely in the end. We’re dealing with 20-40 minute clips. So far my failed attempts to write a script to do the math always rounded up to the nearest whole frame… while not noticeable in the beginning, it’s very apparent in the end of then clip where the difference becomes about 3.5 seconds off…

You come up with some really unique requirements.

I do enjoy picking all of the brains on this forum! It’s been a great way to learn and such a helpful resource!
