I could not find out how to put the buttons in a different way than simply horizontal. I would need them to be at any angle for instance. If you know a solution I would be very grateful for a hint.
Also for a way to add the 5.1 audio to the mpeg file without DVD A3. I have to check the 5.1 sound long before creating a DVD. My computer has problems when using Vegas with the direct sound surround mapper. So I go the VOB way with DVD A3.
DVD A3 is okay but has some problems. This with the drives and the missing space for creating the DVD is one of them. I still do not understand why it did not work with two partitions and almost twice the space but with only one partition and half the space. And on top of it it did not use the space at all (I checked while rendering)… My computers are on a net and allow music, videos, etc. for all rooms with TV/Stereo. This is why my HD are a bit full. I was busy for hours to create the unnecessary space 😉

I have in total around 900 GB. But this not only for DVD A3. Confusing is that there is no guidance where the problem is. I used DVD A3 very often (for smaller files) – and pretty often simply to add the 5.1 audio stream to the mpeg stream (what Vegas cannot do…). DVD A3 is not my first choice. The menus you can create are pretty basic. But at least it does not stop you rendering if you get a bit high with the bit rate like some other programs do (still thinking about the first DVD players on the market I guess…) But lets see the positive things – there is still (a lot) room for improvement…

I was afraid of this answer 😉 But thank you!

I want to move the events. This means the video with the main audio and all other audio channels. Different to the main audio they do not belong to the event at least how Vegas sees this – what I understand. I have at the beginning:
1 track video
2 track audio main front (from the video avi)
3 track audio rear (from the audio wav)If I move 1 then 2 is moved too but not 3. So I have to click on 1 + Shift + 3 to move them all.
Because of this and resulting sync problems I split the audio tracks into the stereo channels and so into 4 audio tracks when the video is finished. But only then I can check the surround audio – if I do not want to switch around all the time. Is there no easy way to make Vegas understand that all sound tracks belong together in a vertical sense and when I move 1 not only 2 has to be moved but 3 too? Sure I can live with Shift but perhaps there is a better way.

This is exactly what I want to avoid. Problem is the rendering time of huge projects in Vegas. If there is 1 bigger problem then my computer has to suffer again for many hours 😉 With smaller units it would be easier to handle this. But there seems to be no other way I am afraid. And I am a bit wondering why the chapter jumps work in the simulation but not in my players (incl. PowerDVD).

February 27, 2006 at 9:49 am in reply to: Sony Vegas 6.0C – 3D Transitions Causing Wave ProblemsThank you a lot for your great help!!! I tested Premiere already… But I am not a fan of Adobe – and this started with their Acrobat Reader – what for ME is the worst standard software I know. Now I can stick to Vegas :-)))
Sony should think to solve this render problem with the software and not with a setting alone. The interlace METHODE could even be optimized PER LINES if I understand this problem correctly. Some more IF statements cannot have such a bad effect on the rendering time but a huge effect on the rendering quality. In any case – it was my mistake that I was not able to understand this great software correctly…

I tested Premiere already… But I am not a fan of Adobe – and this started with their Acrobat Reader – what for me is the worst standard software I know. *) Don’t think now that I am very, very old!!! Computers started to confuse and annoy me when I was at the age of 14. But I underestimated the addiction at this time they can create and my parents just warned my of the bad girls 😉 So I have many computers now but only 1 girl…to be on the save side.

February 26, 2006 at 10:51 am in reply to: Sony Vegas 6.0C – 3D Transitions Causing Wave ProblemsMany thanks for your information! It is the problem. I had None in this field. Really – you helped me a lot!!! Since there were most of the transitions correct despite a lot of movement and there was not this comb effect with small lines but bulky waves for a very short time I did not realize that this was an interlace problem. But in any case im might not have found this setting.
I tried to find out more about this field. If I understand it correctly it is only for effects like transitions and not for the normal unchanged DV video stream – is this correct? And what is normally the best setting there from your experience? If it is like Sony writes this setting should be per clip and not per project. Somehow I think there should be no field at all but the software should always render with the best settings…
Perhaps I have more things wrong. For PAL MPEG for DVDs I have Lower Field First and a Pixel Aspect Ratio of 1,0926 PAL DV. There are so many conflicting opinions about this on the web so I am a bit worried now… You seem to have a lot of experience with this. Would be glad for any advice.
Thanks a lot again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
