Thanks for sharing the Pain Rafael 🙂
So I’m not the only one with this problem? Is this someting ALL FCP set-ups do and everyone just shrugs it off?

Thanks Jeff-
yeah, that seemed obvious, but all dragging the ARRAY icon over to the list does is highlight one of the OTHER drive icons, and the ARRAY alias just gets inserted INto that drive – no ARRAY icon is added to the list…
thoughts??

November 3, 2006 at 9:09 pm in reply to: use a consumer HD LCD as Mac desktop screen with FCP??thanks Walter- this particular monitor, the Westinghouse (not a brand I would normally even look at) has been really highly praised by numerous magazine tests; and I figured being Full 1080 HD _and_ having DVI and HDMI connections, it would give me a nice sharp image. one thing i am annoyed with in my current NEC monitor is the “lag” of video image motion in the edit windows. Even the Mac monitors only offer 14ms motion response, whereas all the high end home HD LCDs offer 8ms or less = much less smearing. anyway, that is what is driving my thinking. The consumer LCDs are now entering the 7th Gen imagers so I am hoping for some decently sharp performance, and since the Westinghouse is a 37″ HD for $1400, maybe it is worth a look at compared to the smaller (30″) Mac??
thanks again

Hi all -thanks for replies!
I have now “discovered” that it is a BIG no-no to change your home-user Folder name. Why apple would even allow the option without some sort of big effing warning is a surprise… ;p
anyway – I have found most all the files – I knew they were in there – the Problem is:
How to restore it all???

Jeez- I’ve actually lost ALL my emails and access: Outlook screen is empty, no incoming emails, old ones all gone. Likewise our address book software “In Touch” has no addresses in it…!! Its like a whole new computer! I found our basic doc files, personal photos, etc.
WHAT I DID:
The computer came to us with the user name “valuedcustomer”. Last night I found if you CONTROL-CLICKd on that name on the main Harddrive menu there was an option to change the name, so I did, to my wife’s name (her computer – she’s about to have me killed). Then I noticed our Safari bookmarks disappeared, I went back and changed it back to valuedcustomer, but no go. So I shut it off for the night and here we are…
It looks like I have changed the User List or some such, but how to restore it all???
help!
