Thanks for all that. That’s kinda the method I was imagining actually.
I’ve had some good preliminary results with the Turbulent Noise effect but may look into the technique you described from The Others to see if it will be doable on my timescale. Thanks so much for your help.

Thanks for that, that’s great.
Could I ask how would you create the layers of fog? I was assuming something like Particular would be the way to go as I would be able to stretch it through Z space and can’t really think how else I could achieve the look. Thanks again.

Real life (and work) got in the way since the weekend but I’m hoping to give it a try tonight/tomorrow.
I’ll let you know how I get on.

Thanks so much guys.
Tom, I’d very much appreciate it if you could take a look at the clip for me. I think (as you point out) I’m just not quite sure which technique I need to use.
In the clip the talent is moving her arms a little (though certainly not excessively) so that could be the issue. However, I have since tried going back to basics by simply shooting a tabletop with a few high contrast markers on it and performed a similar camera move. My results are still unusable though, with the text sliding around a lot.
I’ve been trying all day to work it out and I’m about to go crazy!
I found your email address in your profile so if it’s OK with you I’ll email you the clip now.
Very much appreciated.

Thanks again for all the advice.
My only export options in Mocha are either Transform, which apparently doesn’t include perpective data and Corner Pin, which dosn’t seem like the righ thing to me…
I’ve attached 3 images below that should hopefully roughly demonstrate the type of thing I am trying to achieve.
Thanks!

Would the AE tracker be able to handle the perspective change?
Thanks again.

Ah ok, that makes sense.
The Foundry/Boujou for Match Move, Mocha for tracking an object etc.
I have tried Mocha but it didn’t get anything useable though…Back to the tutorials!
Thanks

Hi.
Thanks for your suggestion but I’m still using 5.5 at the moment.
The Foundry 3D Tracker and Boujou both fail to recognise any usable track points on the camera at all. To me it seems like it should be relatively straightforward so I’m assuming it’s something I’m missing/doing wrong rather than the Foundry plug in or Bojou, or a problem with the footage itself.

Thank you.
I must have changed a setting somewhere along the way.
Much appreciated.

Ah Ok. That sounds like a good idea. Could you suggest an uncompressed Codec I could use. I nearly always export ProRes442 and so don’t really have much experience with uncompressed codecs.
Much appreciated.
