I tried, but found that it is so far behind vegas that it can be frustrating for editing. For vfx and compositing it is amazing, but virtually all the stuff you take for granted in vegas just does not exist in HF – and I hope that the keep focusing on the VFX and composting side of things and let the NLEs do the editing. HF already integrates with VP very well, so I say use it as they intended..

    Just my 2c worth…

    Grazie,

Thanks for this – I see now my problem – because I read that RX had to be used stand-alone with VP I choose not to install the VSTs – I assumed they were not compatible –

    Many thanks.

    Roger,

From what you say you appear to have izotope as a plug-in, as you are adding it to the chain of effects? If so, how are you doing this? I thought RX was a stand-alone option only for VP?

    Thanks

    John,

I have to say your tutorial on the BCC9 chroma-studio was a lifesaver. Absolutely amazing how poor keys can be fixed.

    Thanks

    John,

I never thought to try that – thank you- that looks like it did the trick.

The only issue I have is the presets – presets saved in 2:1 do not show up when you add the effect to the event – what a pain!!

The lighting wasn’t that great – so there had been a lot of adjustments made to many parameters to get a good key

*EDIT* – strike that – presets saved within the Vegas preset option do not show up – BCC presets do – you can save and load them – all working now.

    Thanks for your help.

    John,

Re-reading your reply I saw the comment ‘ I created a transition with another chroma keyed clip’.

Is this something different to just dragging the start of the second event over the end of the first event to create a cross-fade, or should I be doing something more ‘formal’?

    Thanks

    John,

Thanks for the reply. I did make sure I was cross-fading both sets of tracks. It is a bit difficult to describe, so I give below a picture which shows the chroma-key ‘interference’

I have put the cursor directly in the middle of the cross-fade. You can see the green-screen of the image I am fading up appearing over the clip I am fading out.

    I am using BCC 9 Chroma-studio added as a 2:1 composite.

    Thanks

    Folks,

Thank you all for the replies. it has helped me greatly understand what is going on.

having worked through all the answers and experimented I see now the relationships and realise I was making things far too complicated for myself by over-thinking it.

    Thanks,

    STBO.

    Tyson,

Thanks for the info. To be honest I am a little lost.

When you say ‘Your Track Motion keyframe should be 1280×720.’ what do you mean – do you mean the width/height settings? What am I keyframing?

Also, when I set the P/C size to 1280/720 the image is now much bigger.

Apologies – but I have no idea where to start with what you are saying – what am I keyframing, and when?

    Thanks,

    STBO
