Thanks for all your responses, I was rendering out self-contained QT movies, but I found out there was a glitch in the original capture.

    thanks again,

I export out of FCP to the Quick Time Movie, I use the current settings.

I have trashed the render files and restarted and it’s still showing the old, old edit.

Is this just a random bug or is there a way to prevent this from happening in the future?

    thanks for your response,

After reading on another board. everytime you build a DVD it makes either the HD DVD_TS or Video_TS file. I knew that, but how to keep from making the HD DVD file I didn’t. Basically the solution is to start a new project and basically redo it. That worked for me. Seems that when I took over this job, the person before me had no clue what they were doing.

    thanks again for your posts.

I had this problem too, thanks for helping me solving the issue. But, is there a way to keep that HD DVDTS file from coming back every time?

    thanks,
    Steve

He’s using a PC desktop to capture his fooatage. Like I said, I just met him, so I haven’t really gotten with him to find out how flexible he will be with this. And of course there’s not much money involved, that’s why I thought it’d be an easy check, but the acquisition and export is turning into a pain.

    Thanks again for you responses,

I agree. I just met this client and haven’t really had time to sit and find out all the details of his methods. I seriously doubt he’ll go the tape route since he usually films for 5-6 hours straight.

The other problem I’m having is audio drift. The sequence and clip settings are 32KHz but it’s still drifting. The original rate is 22050Hz. But it’s hard to really sync it up because of the bad quality.

I haven’t even really seen his setup, but I’m guessing it’s Flash? So, I don’t even know how to explain to him this workflow doesn’t work for editing.

I once again thought this was going to be an easy check that’s turned into a headache.

    Thanks for all the responses

I know FCP prefers 48Hz audio, but when the audio setting for using ProRes is 32Hz. When I’m exporting out of MPEG Streamclip which is the best audio format to use? Uncompressed, mpeg 2 or 3?

I know I can change the audio rate in FCP, but when I’m exporting out of MPEG Streamclip, which is the best audio setting to use?

I converted it to ProRes, it worked for the video. But the audio rate of the files is 22050Hz. The ProRes sequence setting for audio is 32Hz so the audio loses sync. What’s the best audio setting for FCP?

    thanks for your help,

September 4, 2008 at 6:18 pm in reply to: Unwanted Wavy text

The edge of the text kind of has a gray/white gradient when it’s still, but it’s like a flicker.
I was using the impact font @ 96px, it scrolled from right to left. As I said, it looks fine in Motion, and in preview in FCP, but when I render it, that’s when the waving happens.

I’m not sure how to post a pic to this board or I would, it’d make more sense to see it. I’m just confused on why it only happens after the render.

    any help is always appreciated,
    thanks,
