I guess for whatever reason I was not using the keywords for my search. I found a video explaining it in terms I understood so I guess we can close this thread…

    Cheers

Hey I got it…..I found a youtube video that was in German but visually I could see what he was doing even if I don’t understand German

You were right about the Levels but instead the Preset Computer RGB to Studio RGB was what worked.

    Thanks again for your help

Wow – Thanks for the quick reply — it seems promising even though I couldn’t fix the problem. Maybe I need to find the right combination.

One mistake I made was not to let you know the solution when using quick time pro. Maybe there is something the same in Vegas Pro

Here is the fix using Quick Time Pro

Under the “Visual Settings” I use the Transparency drop down and select Blend from the drop down. I set the transparency level to 100%

Next I select “Straight Alpha” from the same drop down.

That’s how you fix the gamma shift in quick time pro. Not sure if there is something similar in Vegas Pro or not.

    Thanks

    Hello

I just found out that this is a videoscribe problem so I’m sure it can’t be answered here.

    Thanks

I should mention that changing the resolution to 72dpi in PS did work and the image was sized appropriately in AI.

The only problem is the image quality was not so hot.

Too bad you can’t do both — keep the resolution at 300dpi and still have the image the appropriate size in AI.

    Thanks Again

I want to thank everyone for their help. Maybe a day will come when all this technical stuff sinks in. Thanks again.
