[Peter Rooney] “credits were a list of funding bodies who funded the project, a music company who gave me personally permission to include their music on the video, and lastly my name as the editor, graphics, archive material supplied by etc. “

Now you’re talking. If they ditched the names of the funding bodies, they may fixed themselves pretty good. The music people could also have a case about the “exchange” rule. The exchange rule is in place when someone gives you something in exchange for something else. They exchanged music for a credit.

[Craig Seeman] “Is that $450 sans operat”

Make that $350 for camera alone and $450 with the kit. Stix, wireless, batts, monitor, stand…

Do your white balance with a huge white card or foamcore, on the stage, under the performance lights. A goor friend of mine does these on a regular basis and he uses the 3200 preset. He has a 100b and he rents our 100 and 100a. He is a veteren shooter and says he’s never had a problem.

[Nitin Sawant] ” I have a very hot connection”

Um, do you meant HOT temperature or HOT level?

If you mean LEVEL, check the front of the camera to make sure that it is switched to MIC and not LINE.

Set up for a two shot. Look at the people.

As they look at each other, that is called an “eye line”.

Stay on your side of the line. On your monitor, two people having a conversation will never look to the same side of the frame.

A friend of ours here in Phoenix is Ned Traver. He designed the CamTram dolly and sells it through AbleCinetech.

At our FCP meeting las month, he showed us a time lapse of one of his dollies moving sideways on track while it also panned. This rig was designed by a young man who owns one of his units.

I’ll put a call into Ned to see if he can post the video. Maybe you can hook up with the genius that pulled it off.

[Peter Rooney] “crudely doctored, pixellated copy squashed with the wrong AR and removed my credits at the end”

You need to post a nice looking version on you tube with full credits and contact info.
Post a link and we’ll all go take a look and bring your numbers up.

Yeah, take care of that profile if you can. You can always add to it later.

The DSR-570 has the ability to be used in a studio configuration with a CCU and it will cable directly to a portable BVW-50 BetacamSP deck. These things might not be important to you but they are very important to some others who need a more rounded application. It also accepts a studio monitor up top and the lenses use professional lens controls.

It takes small tapes and large tapes so it can record 186 minutes.

While I was writing this, I jumped into Quickbooks and found that we have collected $37K in rentals alone plus over $300k in production work that can be tied directly to the $11,000 (when new) DSR-500.

    Still wondering…
