Just to throw something more into the fire, it’s a policy of all of the credit card firms that a vendor (us) is not allowed to bill the card holder for the fee. You can offer a cash discount but you cant say “Credit Card Charges 2.5%” on the invoice.
We cover it under an “administrative” charge. At first, I was really shy about this but not one single person has complained. Several have asked and my reply is “That’s for the time we spent in planning and cleanup”. They usually just want to know what it’s for. Man, I should have been doing that the last 20 years. Too many of us make the mistake of billing for what we’d want to pay instead of what we should be charging.

We have an FTP system that allows us to upload a Quicktime or WMV. The client gets an e-mail with an address and password. They can view it but can’t download it. We normally upload a version with a timecode window.
for invoicing, we use Quickbooks Pro and we can email the invoice from within that.

We applied for awards until we had a wall of plaques and a showcase full of statues and glass thingies. A surprising number of people decline looking at a reel and point to the awards and say “I can see that you do great work”.
I could have purchased those awards at an auction and gotten the same results.

One of our major client recently changed CEOs. The former CEO did a video each quarter and they were a basic “Here’s what’s going on” info piece. The new CEO dumped the video method because of cost and decided that traveling to each city and seeing everyone in person would have much more impact and it would bring the company together and, it would save lots of money. After one year, over 70% of the company has yet to see the CEO in person. It seems like there is rarely an occasion where everyone from a given city can be on hand for the personal presentation. And, of course, the employees who attended are expected to brief those unable to attend. The cost of the year of travel exceeded our cost by over 1600%.
Maybe she needs to print a quarterly brochure.

Well, “Chroma Key Green” is a color that was developed by a company named “Ultimatte”. They produced a unit that keyed out green backgrounds for composite work. the “Green Color” was developed to match the criteria for their keying unit.
Actually, you can use any green that is close to that same yellowish green color. As an example, head down to your local art supply store and ask for a green foam core board. Use it to shoot a green key. it’s actually the perfect color. After some testing. and some great results, take the card to a paint store and have them match the color.
