It could be that you have long handles on your clips. When shooting time of day, one must always be careful to roll 8 seconds before saying “Speed”. We just had a similar situation where our script person grabbed time code at the beginning of the roll and our editor simply transferred the numbers directly into the edl. When he couldn’t get any edits to work, I suggested that he go in a manually add 5 seconds to every start point of in point. This worked. When the edit machine goes to the start of the clip, it rolls the tape back around 5 seconds before starting capture. It the TC is from the preceding clip, recorded earlier without consecutive TC, the edit machine will spit the edit out.
If this doesn’t fix it, your probably in big trouble. Good luck.
