Thank You for the help Shane. I started from scratch. I deleted the previous folder (and emptied the trash) and uploaded the files from the original source all over again. I created a new folder on my desktop and didn’t change the name (I kept it as “untitled folder 2”. Then I dragged them (AVF_INFO, DCIM, MP_ROOT and PRIVATE) straight from the SD card to the new folder on my desk top. I went to FCP and Log & Transfer. Then I navigated to the folder and clicked on it (untitled folder 2). And I got the message again….”untitled folder 2″ contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure. Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches supported media.
I think I did exactly as you said.

Hi Shane, the video files were recorded to a 32GB SD10 card using the Sony FDRAX100 comcorder. The person gave me the card and i put it in a card reader and uploaded the files to my computer. There are 4 folders (AVF_INFO, DCIM, MP_ROOT and PRIVATE). I put all of them in 1 folder I created and called it Kevin’s Card. When I’m in “log and capture”, I navigate to the “BDMV” folder and select it. When I click on choose, it gives me that message. So on the original card, there are folders that I copied to my hard drive and I put them in a folder that I created.

Thank You Shane. After going back and checking my footage format, I realized that I had about a minute of DV tape (SD) footage in my movie that was coming from an external drive via usb cable. What I did to correct this is, created a sequence with only the SD footage and exported it to Quicktime as Prores. Then I brought it back into the movie in FCP, then exported the whole thing (57 minutes) through Quicktime Movie “Current Settings”. It is a 3.7GB file and I have put it in compressor at the 90 minute dvd settings. Hopefully it goes through this time. I will let you know. Thanks again.

You are right Daniel. The size of the jpeg image was two big for my system to handle. I converted it to a tiff file and my computer was able to handle it. Thank you very much for your help. The HD codec is AVCHD and when I log and transfer, it turns to Pro Res (really big file). Thanks again Daniel.

I am using some footage that I got from a DVD disc. The way I captured it is, I came out of the DVD player with RC wires to my camcorder then came out of the camcorder to the computer with FireWire. And I used log and capture (uncontrolable device). In my timeline, I also have some HD footage from another source and some jpeg images and aiff sound files. The problem is happening when I’m using filters.

Thanks Chris. I tried Cmd L but it only unlinked the audio from the video. The two audio channels are still locked together.
