    I agree.

If you want business from them, give them a call, be top of mind, have lunch, that sort of thing. Remind them that you’re the go-to guy for high-quality work. You could look at it like this: you’d make more money than you would if you had stewed over it and didn’t keep in touch.

By the way, clients assume that a logo is theirs forever They’re pretty territorial about it. Can you really see any client wanting to pay a designer each time they use a logo? So … next time you’ll anticipate this situation and bill for perpetual usage. 🙂

First thing: AE uses 23.976 (correct), not 23.98 (incorrect).FCP says it’s 23.98, but FCP and AE both work in 23.976, which is 4/5 of 29.97.

Beyond that, we need to know some specifics.Specifically, the frame rate of your imported footage, your compositions, and your rendered footage.

Also, exactly how are things messing up? How are you viewing the messed up file? In which app? Alone, or imported into FCP? What is the codec of the FCP sequcne, what is the codec of the AE rendered footage?
Under what conditions does the timing look correct, and when does it look incorrect? What are the difference between the two situations in terms of apps, footage?

Also, what is your process? Your workflow between FCP and AE?

    It’s a default.
Since a still sequence has no frame rate flag (unlike a video clip), AE has to pick something for it, and it picks 30.

Could it have something to do with the fact that AE naturally interprets still sequences at 30 fps?

Nope. Paths or masks exist on layers, and layers are flat: 2D.

If you want 3D stroked paths you need to buy, well, 3D Stroke by Trapcode. Or is it Red Giant nowadays?

Um. Yes. It’s viable. Otherwise it’s be useless for motion graphics.

Read the AE Help on the basics of keyframing and try it yourself.

  • As for the 24p look, if you shot interlaced, you could try something like Fieldskit deinterlacer to give the look of 30p, which would be the best you could do if you didn’t shoot 24p and didn’t want to actually work at 24 fps.
