No you are wrong, LUT’s are more advanced and gives you far better results.

Im not gonna download that zip file, but from what you described, that is called the Extended Edit Mode, simply go to Edit on the toolbar, then to Select and then to Exit Edit Mode.

The final render is still ok.
But still there is no need really to fuss with the default rendering bitrates,

I simply dont understand why you need to be blocking out and filling
parts/frames etc of your edit. Im kinda understanding what you are saying,
but doing all that is not usually normal, nor necessary!

NO, Green is dealt with differently, by simply Chroma Keying.
