The fact that it plays correctly on your computer means the
disc was burned correctly…the problem is that the players
you placed it in did not play it. So i would suggest follow
the same procedure using at least two other brands etc. of
blank DVD….And see if the result is the same with each player.

“Maybe I don’t know how to use this“.

I don’t think thats the issue Rick…We are Professionals,
and to get the results we want, we have to use professional
tools.(Deemon $30 video enhancer does not fully fit that bill).

Nothing better than just shooting in HD, But for such
intricate task of converting SD to HD when needed, i suggest
just investing in “Topaz Enhance” or “Magic bullet Instant HD”
or if you want to do all that in Vegas, go for “Boris Red”.

Hard to say what you are doing wrong….Most probably you
are applying too much color tweaking in the look…you need
to tone the grading down a bit but still convey that green
film hue.
I am sure when you do this the finish render will look good.

yes in sony vegas, go to file, and then select
“capture video”, and a small box will appear…
you then select “HDV or SDI” and press ok.
The internal capture window will pop up, in there you now
select your camera and it will pick up and you can go from there.

But before you do all that, make sure your camcorder is in HD mode before you even connect it to the computer.

First off, nothing is wrong if still using Sony vegas 6.
Now, you have an HD camcorder, and the external sony
video capture utility cannot capture or recognize
an HD Camcorder (actually when set in HD mode)…you need to use the built in capture utility (the little video camera icon in the toolbar), which opens the capture video box and selecting “HDV or SDI”
and proceed.

Yeah…i know about it…gave it a whirl sometime back,
but wasn’t too pleased all round…does not have that
professional touch, workflow and tweakability that i
wanted. Though for a $30 standalone the result was not
too bad. However through extensive tests, I concluded
that the work-flow i mentioned earlier yielded the utmost
results.

There is no Sony vegas 9..It is Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum
and Movie Studio 9 Platinum Pro Pack, They are not vegas
professional versions.
As you are advised, Scripting is only supported in
the professional versions.

There is an SD to HD upresolution plugin available
for Sony Vegas in “Boris Red” (UpRez).

The best work-flow still to me, for HD Up-resolution is
using “Instant HD” or “Topaz” in After Effects.

Well..of course if you make modifications in architect
as you said increase bit rate and stuff…it will have
to be re-compressed.

Without doing any modifications and using one of the
Architect video stream template in vegas, then their
will not be any further compression carried out by Architect.

Sure its possible..Before placing anything in vegas,
just first set the project properties to the PAL template
and settings you desire, then when you import your footages
on the timeline, you open the pan crop window and right click
and select “match output aspect” for each video clip and do
your tweaks from there.
