Stand-alone. I should add this is version 3.0.4.050929. Is there something in Preferences that should be on?
I can start Red with a new project, see that Preferences is set to say 720×486 and then open a project that I know was set at 330×75 yet the comp size doesn’t change as seen in Preferences.

It’s PC. Trashing the settings got it working again on standalone. Thanks.

It is a good story, but wouldn’t you expect that level of service from a business with just seven people? At that early stage any problems could potentially be company killers unless they responded quickly. How many systems were in existence back then?

You could use the BCC Jitter Basic filter with the Destination 1 set to Opacity, Master Amount=100, Amount1=-300 and the Jitter Shape set to Up Down, and drop it onto the topmost of your two spline Precomputes. Adjust flash speed with the Frequency slider.

Off the top of my head I’m thinking you can build the lights using Wedge spline primitives and placing them all into a Precompute folder. Duplicate that folder and apply BCC Glow Edges with high width and smoothness values for the “lit” version and then figure out a way to switch between the lit and unlit folders on your timeline. HTH.

Optical Flares from Video Co-Pilot and Knoll Light Flares from Red Giant Software are examples of solutions that might work in certain circumstances. They typically work with After Effects”
Do they work with Red? How much time will go by before BorisFX puts its own lens flare filters into Red and not just Continuum?

Hi Peter,
No, Auto-Save is not checked in 4.3. I’ll send you the project file/.eps shortly.

Nothing on this? It’s a RED 3.0.2 project btw. Same behavior exists in 4.3.3. No idea why this would be when the original .eps file seems to keep its proper aspect regardless of what I change the project size to.
Another nasty bug is that opening the 3.0.2 project in 4.3.3 and then closing without saving somehow corrupts the .red file so that 3.0.2 claims it’s now incompatible. Attempting to re-open in 4.3.3 produces absolutely nothing. Very disappointing. I’ve lost about two days’ worth of work.

Yeah, put everything into a single container and use its controls to move between your pictures (that you’ve presumably locked into place using their own controls).
What Boris really needs is something like the Sure Target 2 After Effects filter that Video Copliot put out. Now that’s a slick timesaver.

Not sure what you mean with the Import Files menu. I always use the Add Image Media button to bring stills onto the BorisFX timeline.
