I see. What you want is in After Effects. It has exactly those text effects. And motion effects.
Adobe has put editing features in Premiere Pro, and Compositing and special efects in After Effects. That is why they discount the bundle to much lower than the price of all of the products together.
I imagine that by now, at least half of the people using Premiere Pro also own After Effects.

The minimum requirement for HDV without using Cineform products is listed as 3.4GHz and 2GB RAM. It is possible to get Premiere Pro to use up to 3GB with a switch but that is really only of value when you have 4GB not 3GB. Remember that Windows takes much of 1GB anyway, and you will often want to open AE or Photoshop even if only temporarily.
The best way to make a system HDV friendly without Cineform is to get a dual core processor, or two processors.
Since I am Cineform’s biggest fan, I am amused at the lengths that people will go to avoid getting better quality and faster editing speeds.

Since you can put the tab in any panel you like, I believe Adobe feels it is necessary to keep the label. I know of no way to change this.

I figured there would be an extensive section on it. Jacob seems to be pretty happy with it, and that generally makes a writer work harder on a section.

I recall color correction being a large part of the “What’s New” and I believe that material is included in the full set. Jacob really likes the color correction tools I think.

The Total Training course does cover it very nicely. Just pick up the “What’s New” for Premiere Pro 2.0 if you have the older version. It’s pretty good. I am away from home, but I imagine that the Studio Techniques book covers it as well. Maybe Aanarav can take a look.
