I’m not sure I understand your question.
If you adjust the value of a key frame in the motion tab, then the slider for that attribute will also move, because they are two representations of the same information.

Final Cut Pro stops play when you click another application.
When I need to watch footage, but also have to use another application (such as taking notes) I open the original quicktime files in Quicktime Player, which can play on when it’s a background app.

Check your user preferences and see how many audio tracks are set for real-time. I think it might beep whenever you are above that preference number? I’m not near a machine to check this.

Unix, which underlies OS X, is a multi user operating system, so files are tagged with which processes, users and groups have PERMISSION to read, write or execute. These can get fouled up in various ways, especially if tasks end abnormally. Here’s Apples doc on the issue:

Perhaps the audio is a master clip, but the video is a subclip? I haven’t seen this behavior, but I haven’t made merge clips in 6.03 either.

I would make sure VITC switch is on, so that it is being recorded. Then I would set timecode to internal, set the start time of the deck’s tc generator to the time near what your sequence uses, and black a minute or so. Then you can switch the TC display (via menu?) between VITC and LTC and play back this section to make sure the two timecodes match.
Then I’d switch the TC to regenerate, and use edit to tape from FCP. The serial control should locate the timecode on the tape that matches your sequence, then sync the internal TC generator to match as it inserts video and audio and both types of timecode through the rest of the blacked portion and continues through the unblacked portion to the end of your show.
I don’t have that particulary deck, but this method has worked on other Sony models.
Perhaps now you’re not writing any VITC, so you’re getting old VITC that was on the source video.
