December 6, 2012 at 10:03 pm in reply to: Constant build error causing PPro to crash… Extremely annoying!Well… to any of you that has an ATI Radeon HD 5770 installed on their system and is operating with PPro: get it out. Immediately. It does not support the Mercury Playback engine. I believe this is the root of all my problems.

December 6, 2012 at 8:47 pm in reply to: Constant build error causing PPro to crash… Extremely annoying! It’s happened over 30 times in the past few hours. Same error. Seems to happen most frequently when clips with multiple effects are selected or the playhead is dragged over them. THIS IS MADNESS!!!!

August 28, 2012 at 2:35 pm in reply to: Planning to Switch to Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 from AvidIf you’re operating on Mac, I highly recommend you do not switch to CS6 yet. Premiere is currently riddled with bugs and issues. I’m sure Adobe will address the issues in time, but right now, at least for us, it’s causing a lot more issues than it’s fixing. Once they fix them, then absolutely go with Premiere. Excellent product, just not quite there yet. I can’t speak for CS6 on Windows though.

I didn’t work in 6.0 for very long but, if it was worse than 6.0.1 then I feel very sorry for you.

Yeah… I just deleted most of the 3rd party effects from the clips and it seems to work. It seems that when I have 3rd party effects on layered clips, it performs a serious error.

Sefan,
It seems to happen when I click on a clip in the timeline. Sometimes it’s the same clip, but many times it’s a different one. There’s no discernible pattern. However, usually the clips have an effect on them, or are layered on top of clips that have effects. They’re also 3rd party effects (GenArts Sapphire). I was thinking that might have something to do with it, but upon researching this error it seems that every instance is completely different. So I have no idea.
Thanks

Yeah, ignore this. I fixed it. Zykkor mount wasn’t locked in right…

July 9, 2012 at 2:36 pm in reply to: Adobe Premiere Pro CS6: Transitions in sequence not encoding properlyAnd I figured it out… Do not check “Use Maximum Render Quality” when exporting. I don’t even know why that is an option if it screws things up so badly. Oh well, lesson learned.

No I’m not working over a network. And the files that cause the crash would be a few MB at best. The hi-res exports that work (minus the horrible transition encoding for whatever reason) are less than 1GB.

Yes everything is up to date. And this problem occurs while exporting with Premiere itself as well a queuing it to AME through Premiere. I rebooted the comp and it worked once, but then stopped working again. It seems to only happen when exporting low-res mp4 preview files. However, when it successfully exports higher-res files in any other format, it seems that the transitions aren’t being encoded properly. For instance, dissolves are not smooth at all but rather quick and jerky when they fade in.
