I did not notice any motion in the text background. You could reproduce similar text in Photoshop. There is a tutorial out there somewhere called bling text. I don’t have a clue of what site it was that I saw it.
However, the type in the video looks like it was created in a full 3D app. like Maya or 3DS Max. Photoshop could get you close.
I found the link….

I was able to create a realistic spray paint over a stencil. However, when I animated the stencil lifting off of the paper, the paint particles then passed through the stencil and stayed on the canvas. There may be some type of setting to make it do what you want. I did not have that much time to mess with it.
I figured if I really had to do the effect, I could save the final frame as a PSD file (after the paint stopped spraying). Then go to Photoshop, cut the stencil out onto its own layer, import that layer back into AE as a 3d layer. Then animated that layer to lift off after the original layers opacity is taken to 0. You would also have to do the same thing with the canvas. I did not go through this entire process, but it should work.
I am sure there is an easier way. I tend to find the hardest ways to do just about anything.
I think particle playground is only in the Pro version of AE. I may be wrong on that. You can find it under EFFECT > SIMULATION > PARTICLE PLAYGROUND. I don’t know if it will work as well as Particular.

I am not sure what you mean by “on a canvas”? You can create a layer in Photoshop to look like canvas, or take a picture of a piece of canvas. To make the effect work on a “canvas on the wall” as opposed to something on the floor, just change the physics. You can download a trial version of Particular if you do not have it.
Maybe AE’s Particle Playground can do the same effect.

Trapcode particular is the first thing that came to my mind. http://www.trapcode.com It is a third party plugin that you have to buy. Check out their tutorial on Particular bounce. Just make a negative layer rather than a positive like he shows in the video. Make you particles much smaller.
There may be another way to do it with the stock AE.

Just create one in Photoshop or other app. Place it in the comp on its own layer.

Thanks guys.
My After Effects project finished rendering sooner than I thought. I changed the firewire cable to the other firewire card. EVerything is working just fine now.

I have had the camera on the VTR mode. I am not sure about the DV-IN. I am at the office right now. I will check when I get home.
I was starting to think about a bad firewire card. I do have 2 firewire cards on the computer. I will try the other tonight. However, I can capture without any problem, not a single dropped frame. I should have another firewire cable around, I will try that also.

I turned every possible program off. It did not help. This time the video on the computer monitor showed the usual blue screen with the oriental writing. But, the camera only showed a blue screen while the counter is moving. It typically shows the video that is being recorded to tape. Nothing shows up on the tape when played back.

Not that I know of. I will try to shut everything down in the system tray and give it shot again. I will let you know how it works.
Thanks
