hey any idea how to recreate the text behind the people around time 2:06. I tried to do it using the 3d text described in Creating 3D Text by Traylor Woodall. I used a text layer with a particle effect as my precomp. i did this to recreate the shining but when i stack the layers the shine fills in everything if i lower the shine i lose the 3d look. Should i use a differnt 3d text creation style? any help is apreciated.

I did not notice any motion in the text background. You could reproduce similar text in Photoshop. There is a tutorial out there somewhere called bling text. I don’t have a clue of what site it was that I saw it.

However, the type in the video looks like it was created in a full 3D app. like Maya or 3DS Max. Photoshop could get you close.

    I found the link….

I just noticed the $ is rotating. You could do that with Zaxwerks ProAnimator or other 3D app. I also noticed the lights flickering on the letters. You could add that in a number of different ways, one of them being a particle effect and a glow, maybe even something like vegas effect could make it look like chasing lights around the text.
