    Hi Darby,
Thanks for your patience-I’m a newbie and unfamiliar with a lot of the ” techie ” terms. I found my answer-using Blending>Stencil Alpha.
Works perfect. And your suggestions are also great.
Thanks so much for helping me. I am indebted to you.
    Best regards from Steve

    Hi Darby,
I have an animation (mov+alpha). It is NOT full screen-but say, half-screen size, in the shape of a crescent. It’s the SHAPE of this animation that I want to use as a ” template ” for ” filling with the colors of other animations, then resave, fill in with another animation, resave, etc etc. I don’t want to do anything else, except to use the default shape and re-colorize, by way of somehow using other animations’ colors.
Example-the shape of the default animation is, say, a banana-shape.
I want a yellow banana, a red one , a green one etc etc.

The reason why the animation is a ” strange shape ” is because it’s an Overlay similar to Lower Third animations, which I purchased online. And all I want is to make many different colored-variations.

    Hope this helps, Darby.
    Many thanks

    Ian,
What does ” keyframe the crack by hand ” mean ?
Also how do you put portions of a layer onto layers of their own ?

    Thanks
