Maximize encore dvd, then try to reset to default, if this doesn’t work, hook up the second monitor, move the monitor window and then save your workspace, then you can recall it whenever.

I second the reccomendation, I use this same system and it is very good. I wouldn’t buy a transmitter set that only has one channel. Depending on where you are at there could be all kinds of “radio noise”

Did I miss something, I didn’t see a drive size. Of course there is no chart if there isn’t a size listed. The chart is pretty simple though, the data rate(unless I misunderstand 100MBps) For DVCPROHD 1080 and DVCPROHD 720 is 12.5Mbps unless you record 720 24p then the data rate is only 5 Mbps. Roughly, 1 minute = 1 Gig unless it is 720 24p then you could get 2.5 minutes per gig.

  • When you first import or capture a clip, it will conform the audio of the clip. Depending on the speed of your system it will take more or less time, after it has conformed it once, it won’t need to do it again. How much Ram are you using? Is the 300 gb Sata drive running your OS also? Does your system meet BlackMagics minimum specs? Try using their Hard drive speed test program to see what it says about the number of Frames per Second you can expect on your system. If you open up your task manager, are your Cpu’s doing anything while you have to wait? The answers to these questions will allow people to help you better. I’m guessing the problem lies in the system, since a lot of people use those cards with premiere.

  • Well, in theory you shouldn’t need the laptop since the HVX200 can control a firewire drive. That will be a good use for the new ipod. Playback would be impossible right now with the setup you mentioned. If they put an offline card in the hvx200 that could do a live transcode to h.264 at 750kbps at 320×240 then you could put that on your ipod and watch that, but why would anyone want to do that. It would be such low quality that it’d be hard to see what was going on.

If you have after effects, you can just export an hour long video with comp size 200×40 and use the numbers plugin. Export it and then just place it in a video layer above the rest of your project.

Will it work with a larger drive? Also, is there any hope for those of us that use adobe that there might be P2 support?

I’m sorry that I didn’t catch that in the earlier posts. That is excellent news. Who cares about those cheap little adapters I linked to then. Thanks for sharing that info. What frame rates are going to be available. Any idea if After Effects will be able to open the video streams of the HVX200?

Is that for sure? If it is that is wonderful. So, does that mean the camera can be plugged into a lacie drive that is 1.6 tb and backed up on that?
