To accurately view your footage, you need a i/o capture device connected to a TV monitor. Computer display is not accurate at judging your quality.

I would get any product from Black-Magic, AJA or Matrox for your a/v i/o. Research each product to determine your input/output needs and also how each one connects to your specific MBP. Not all products connect the same way. Some connect via FW800 others Express34, etc.

I would suggest the CW-5HD from IDX or contact RF Central and check out their broadcast products used for major sporting events.

You will need to extend the marker across the entire clip in order to see your notes.

Since you are still shooting SD, just archive the original P2 data onto hard drives. A 2 TB HD will hold many many hours of original P2 data.

If you want speed and have the budget, look at the PCD-35. I went from the PCD-2 to the PCD-35 and now I can offload a full 64 GB card in 19 minutes. I can also offload up to 5 cards at a time.

You also need a PCIe slot in order use the PCD-35.
