You are doing nothing wrong. Everything is correct. I could explain square pixels and such but it will just confuse you.

Yes you can log and transfer your footage and FCP will transcode your footage into the ProRes codec.

I just hope you back up your SD card. It is so much easier to copy the SD cards to multiple hard drives then
log and transfer from the hard drive.

You should really think about using CS6 Premiere or FCP X if you want a very simple workflow.

Correct workflow is extremely essential when editing with tapleless media.

You are better off getting some type of playback device. USB thumb drive should be your very last resort. It is slow and will not yield good playback.
There are so many options. Computer, DVD, Apple TV, KiPro, Blackmagic Hyperdeck, DV Camera, Atomos Ninja and list goes on including digital signage devices.

Read the post above. DVCPro is an anamorphic codec. it is 1440×1080 and 960×720. Drop the file into FCP and it corrects itself to 1080i automatically.

Apple makes the codecs. If you have Adobe CS or Avid Media Composer, it may be possible to use the ProRes Codec.

You need to “Corner Pin” the logo onto the TV screen. Use the distort tool to do this.
