If you are editing in a PAL sequence, you will need to correctly convert your NTSC footage to match your PAL footage. You can do this for free with Compressor or pay $100 and use Nattress Standards Conversion.

It is possible but not recommend. Better off creating a partition and install on separate partitions.

Edit in HD. Export QT reference movie. Drop file into Compressor. Choose a 16:9 h.264 preset and export.
