This simply will not work. You will need to feed the DVD Recorder via composite/S-Video input.

Your only solution is to connect a DV Camera to FCP via firewire. Take the Composite/S-Video & audio out of camera to input of DVD recorder.

You will find the serial number on the front of the 15 page “Installing Your Software” booklet. That is, unless you removed the stickers.

When it comes out. Apple is very quiet. If they do update, it will most likely be at NAB.

December 6, 2008 at 2:17 pm in reply to: FCP 4.5/MBP/Leopard conflicts?

Sharing a license is violating Apple’s agreement. FCP 6 is not a available as a stand alone application. You need to purchase the full version of Final Cut Studio 2 ($1299).

November 28, 2008 at 3:50 am in reply to: Help with P2 log and Transfer

You really don’t understand P2. It could not be easier. First I would suggest you back up the original P2 card/s to a couple of different hard drives. I would recommend a RAID 1 HD.

You do not to change any settings to your system. Log and transfer your clips and FCP6 will automatically know what format you shot in. Do not change the format for the footage on the cards.

If your biggest concern is quality, then you have nothing to worry about. Quality will not change.

Go do a search on P2 workflow or pick one of a few DVD’s that are available and get yourself accustomed to the P2 workflow. It’s hard to screw things up with P2.

    November 28, 2008 at 3:39 am in reply to: 64GB P2 Available

Technology takes time to build. I’m guessing the 128GB will be ready second quarter 2009.

Perhaps the 32GB or 64GB card would come with the camera and not the opposite.

originally the 8GB card came with the camera now it’s the 16GB.

By the way, who pays full price for anything these days? I never have and never will.

You bet it will. All CRT TV’s are interlaced. Test it out on a CRT monitor to see how it looks.
