locating the serial number on Final Cut Studio 2
Question,
I recently had to send my computer to Apple to repair a hard drive issue. I just tried to open up my final cut studio and a dialog box opened up asking me for my serial number. I’ve checked the box, and entered several numbers located on the box but none of them work. Where do I find my serial number for final cut?

There is a folded sheet of paper in the box that had the serial numbers on it. It has them listed twice and they are on labels so they can be removed and stuck somewhere else. I always put one of the labels on the DVD envelop of the install disc. I also keep all my software install disc in a signal box. Only thing in my life I have semi-organized.

It’s on a sticker attached to the sleeve that contains your installation disk… it’s on disk one’s sleeve. (not on the box) Unless you have FCP only install disks like for FCP 4… those were on a folded sheet that came with the books etc…

You will find the serial number on the front of the 15 page “Installing Your Software” booklet. That is, unless you removed the stickers.

Thanks everyone for the response, I sometimes amaze myself, I actually put the serial number booklet in a folder that I forgot to label!
