  • Use your G-RAID as a scratch disc.

Get a Bare 1-2 TB hard drive (Hitachi/Seagate/Western Digital) Use an external enclosure such as the NewerTech Voyager (https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/NewerTech/Voyager/Hard_Drive_Dock).

Clone that drive and use that drive to move from system to system.

The HVX-200 does NOT have any A/V INPUTS. So no, it is not possible.

    The HPG-10 (firewire), HPG-20 (firewire and HD/SD-SDI), HPM-200, HPD24 can record to P2 cards.

Glad I use P2 cards. It closes the files every 2 seconds. Data loss is very minimal if it should occur.

You do not want this. HDMI out will not give you the video output you believe. Computer output and video output from a breakout box/card from Matrox, AJA or Blackmagic are 2 completely different signals. You want the second option listed here.

I’m going to take a wild guess and say the self-contained was unchecked. Otherwise I will agree with David.

I’d take the protection of P2 over SDHC any day. No other tapeless media can protect your data better than P2. P2 card closes the file every 2 seconds while recording.

[Laura Weinstein] “So then I’ll import my full res version into compressor and use the setting mpeg 2 best for 90 minutes? Is that really the best option? My project is only about 25”

Or CBR at 7.0. A little bit faster than 2-pass VBR.
