I got it working on Vegas Pro 8, but still don’t work on my other computer with Vegas 6. I can use it though as a stand alone on that computer. I am just going to have to learn what settings to use to make it work the best. If anyone has some great settings that they would like to share, I would appreciate it.
Thanks, God Bless, and Happy Thanksgiving!

I read everything that there is on this. I am discussing this right now with John Meyer, and he thinks he has found the error message that I am getting, just don’t know why. I did get it to work last night, only if I go through Virtual Dub. I did it on a shaky piece of footage and it really didn’t seem to do that much. Some jerkyness and distortion around the edges. Really want this to work. Still nothing thru Vegas though. The settings that I used in the 1rst and 2nd pass settings, was the ones that is shown in the manual.

Thanks for returning my message. I seem to be having problems. I have downloaded the package that you are talking about. I can run Deshake from either VD, or from Vegas scripts. When I run it through Vegas, it does its thing, then says: Error: specified file cannot be found”. If I run through VD, it does both passes, and shows the one screen on the left, and 2 screens on the right with all the little pin like things doing their job. Then when it is done, I go to my document folder where it is sent, and play it back, but the video that I get is the 2 screens with all the pin like things. It is just like it recorded the two screens doing the last pass. I have tried 3 different files, each way, and does the same each time.
Thanks for the help, it’s evidentily not going to work for me. We tried

Thanks, I just finished doing all that you said. Deshaker shows up in my script file in Vegas, and it does its thing, but when it gets done, it says “Error: the system cannot find the file specified”. It says “rendering Deshaker.avi, while it is doing its thing. Also when it is done the “Actual file is no longer on the timeline, just the one that it tried rendering (with the whole track in gray, even where there is nothing, and you try to play it, and the preview window stays black, and all you hear is the audio.

I checked. The link that the forum page takes you to, has been expired since July. I didn’t neccessarily have to have it as a plug-in for my Vegas. Actually, I kind of dreaded tying it into Vegas, seeing all the stuff that is involved in the thread looks very complicated. I have a wedding Friday and don’t want any issues to deal with in Vegas Pro 8, if this addition should cause any for me. The only other thing that I am not sure of, is that somewhere in the installation directions that I seen somewhere last night, it said something about if you cannot run it, it may be because you don’t have Microsoft Visual C++++ sp1, or something installed. Which I don’t seem to have on this computer. VD seems to work, it just does not have Deshaker plug-in working or even showing in the filters dropdown.

I will delete, and try that way then.

I downloaded the 1.76 version of Virtual Dub. Opened it up in it’s own folder, then downloaded Deshaker, unzipped it, and moved the one file into the plugin’s file of VD. I run VD and check the filters window, and it doesn’t show a Deshaker plugin, actually there is no files in the plugin folder other than Deshaker, but the rest of the fx show in the filters area of VD. Don’t know what could be wrong. There HAS to be a commercial version of a stabilizer program out there somewhere.

I guess what I meant is, that I heard that you should defrag your hd before rendering.

    Thanks Rick.
So if I am doing a wedding with say 3 cameras, I need to save, from beginning to end, all three tapes to my hard drive, and maybe label the file of each tape captured to hard drive, as camera #1,#2,#3 ?
And doing a wedding, what sort of way would you use to see a defining point on the audio, for syncing each one?
