    Hi;

    Do you want the DVD to be widescreen, or 4:3 ?

    I used to have a cam that outputted 640×480, and I still liked to use the NTSC 24p Widescreen .mpg setting, and then did a separate pass for .ac3 audio before using DVD Architect 5.0 for the burn. It seemed to help my Samsung DVD player size the output to widescreen, with a 4:3 video rectangle letter-boxed on my 16:9 TV.

    This probably resulted in longer renders and larger files than was needed, but I never overflowed a DVD.

  • It can be done in Vegas 9.x pro, but you will need patience. I have used this tutorial with success.

  • Hi;

    Sorry to respond to my own post so soon, but I’m ready to leap out the window. Below are screen shots of the same project, and the event on the left is the same event from my first post; in that post, it is the event on the right. (in other words, I have simply advanced in the timeline to the next transition to the right of the problem in the first post). For this transition, the problem does not happen! I can separate the events and then make them “kiss” again, and the transitions do not disappear, and both fade handles remain in place. MADNESS!

    Please help …

    Hi;

    Please post a link to one of them, perhaps if we have a look and download the .mp4 we can be of more help.

    Hi;

    Have you tried going to to Vegas options/Preferences/PreviewDisplay and going through those settings, identifying the monitor, etc?

    I have a similar setup with nVidia, and had problems at first until I got Windows, nVidia and Vegas to all agree on which display was the secondary display.

    Good luck,

    June 19, 2010 at 10:37 pm in reply to: How would I achieve this text/blur effect?

    Hi;

    It’s hard to tell from the video examples exactly what problem you are having. Can you be a bit more specific?

    The text in the video seems to me to be a simple combination of movement and fade. Assuming Vegas Pro, that’s easy to do with the pan/crop feature applied to a text event on a track above the actual video. As you mentioned, you can also create a duplicate track, then mask off/keyframe the text on the top track and apply FX such as blur or defocus, and selectively fade at the desired points.
