I tried Toast, it does work but there’s almost zero customisation on the templates so even if you put your own background on, the fonts are horrible and it looks like a slightly more advanced DVD recorder from the 1990’s! However at this rate it’s going to be my only option!

Sadly my DVDSP is long gone, I miss it!

If I burn a Disc or DVD folder it sits at the top of the menu no matter what template I use, even if I replace the background. I’ve tried playing on a couple of players and my Mac and it’s “burnt in”

Can you make a menu without the title and time duration appearing at the top? If so I wonder what’s different

[Bob Zelin] “I agree. I enjoyed Michael’s post more than 99% of the crap I have read here recently.
If it were not participation from real professional people like Tony, Eric, Michael, Oliver, and the rest (you know who you are), I would not be here any more.

Lovely post Bob, thanks for that.

  • Not exactly any “news” in this report ☹ Sounds like a great event though

[Bill Davis] “Hopefully, more news after the Creative Summit next week. Apple is doing another specific “talk with the team” event for attendees. It should be interesting IF we can talk about it afterwards.”

I wonder if this will also see the official release of the new MP? Rumours are also swirling that the 16inch MBP is imminent as well.

    Exciting times 🙂

[Oliver Peters] “I completely agree, but obviously that’s the goal for Michael and Frame. Ultimately a lot of manufacturers are pushing the idea of all media in the cloud. No on-camera media (other than as a buffer), no hard drives, no on-site NAS/SAN storage. Naturally your local capital expenses would go down, however, that locks you into a permanent subscription model far more objectionable than Adobe’s or Microsoft’s.”

Not even the slightest chance this will happen in any meaningful way.

[Michael Gissing] “It falls on familiar lines. For some X is and always was perfect. For others not liking Resolve is OK but seriously the pace of X developments compared to Resolve should be of some concern.”

In feature terms I honestly don’t feel that FCPX is going to be developed a great deal further than it is at the moment. I think everything seems to be concentrating on performance and “under the hood” development.

I do wish they’d continued down the path of innovation that they started with the release, but at the moment it works very well for me and I’m happy to stick with it, but if they EOL’d it now, I think I’d be quite happy to jump to Resolve.

[Warren Eig] “And will this be the last update for these grater Mac Pros that can run OS 10.14.6? Will FCPX 10.4.8 be Catalina only?”

I imagine it might and so it should be!
