Apply the behaviour to the object that you want to do the orbiting, select the behaviour in the layers tab, then drag the object that you want to orbit around from the layers into the object image well in the inspector.

Thought that might be the case. I found a few illustrator scripts at http://www.motionsmarts.com which are useful if you only want to bring a few shapes in.

If you look at the blur paramaters in the filters tab there is an option to crop with a tick box next to it, make sure this is unchecked.

Hi Everyone, Thanks for the input. I’m running FCP 5.1.4 and the drive is about half full.
The sequence isn’t rendered, it has an orange bar above it. I thought if you were running a powerful machine RT Extreme could play stuff back without the need to render? I’m very new to FCP so may have misunderstood.

it’s just normal dv footage with a title over it made in Motion.

Apply the mask to the layer that the picture sits in, not the picture its self.

you should be able to do this quite easily,
1. Use the bezier tool to draw your shape in the first frame.
2. Click the record button.
3. Move the playhead to the end frame and drag the bezier points to their new position.
4. Click records button (to deactivate it).
5. Play it back and tweak as necessary.
