They apparently used the Lens Distortion effect, which is available only on the PC version, not on Mac unless it’s bee added recently. You can probably ignore the warning, or if it really bugs you, try to find the clips that they effect was applied and remove it.

I’ve had to reinstall Premiere twice since that update because of issues with Red Giant plugins – at Red Giant’s advice. In addition to the time lost having to do this, we’re also on a satellite internet connection with a 10GB monthly limit before we start having to pay $10/GB. Having to re-download the software at each re-install really adds up.

Good question. Personally, I’m a technical editor – competent in the editing software, but need someone to provide the creative ideas. But, as you pointed out, I’ve been beat down so many times when attempting to insert ‘edgy’ into our productions, that I’ve become very jaded to the aspect.
Case in point – a piece for a fulfillment center. I had a shot of a large forklift moving up and down a very long row of product, raising and lowering to the height of the items to be picked. I thought it would be a perfect spot for a simulated time-lapse by speeding up the clip. Looked great! But…the client was afraid that their clients would think that their equipment actually moved that fast, and would be concerned about breakage. Seriously.
Still, that shot’s going in our reel.

You’re right, the avi has handles, but the AE Comp does not. I guess I don’t understand why the transition won’t apply to the avi unless I first make the gap.
Hard to believe that in over 12 years of using PPro this is the first time I’ve tried to do such.

Here’s a method that I like to use when facing the same task…
Create a sequence out of each separate interview. Name the sequence as you like, but I use the convention “Interviewee Name – Cutting”, and place all of these ‘cutting sequences’ in an aptly named bin.
Right click on the audio in a sequence and ‘Edit in Audition’.
Do whatever you need to do in Audition, or in the case of Izotope RX3, locate the resulting WAV file that was created at the ‘Edit in Audition’ command.
Use these sequences to cut your interview segments from. Treat them just like ‘clips’ by loading them into the Source Monitor.
The beauty is, if your interviews are one long clip each, you can apply noise reduction to the entire WAV, since the captured noise print will likely be representative of the entire clip.

No, at least not here. The paradox was the increasing ease and lower cost of video production, bringing it more in line with the masses. We’ve been forced to reduce our pricing structure fairly drastically, after being told many, MANY times when proposing a few thousand for a project, and being told that the CFO’s son said he could do it for $500. Of course, we’ve also have the pleasure of having a couple of those same companies come to us later asking if we could “fix” the video the CFO’s son “produced”.

There’s a good reason for this!
I would definitely stick with After Effects for rotoscoping. Not that I’m any sort of expert, but here’s how I would handle it…
Place your clip on a layer in a Comp.
Duplicate that layer.
Apply a blur to the bottom layer.
Draw masks around the hoarding on the top layer, so that the bottom blurred layer shows through the ‘holes’ created by the masks.
Adjust the mask points frame by frame.

Sorry Gabriel, my advice was strictly about lighting the green screen separately from the foreground subject, which I hope you are doing. But yes, since “nice ambient shadows and even lighting” is the hallmark nature of a softbox, one would probably recreate your ‘sunlight though the window’ look rather well. The long vertical softbox in your last post works well for full body shots, but your example video only shows a medium shot, where a smaller softbox would work just as well.

Don’t get to caught up in the ‘brightness’ of your lighting of a green screen, and pay more attention to the evenness of it. It doesn’t necessarily matter how bright the screen is lit, but how different in color it is from your foreground. Being lit brighter doesn’t affect that. Being too bright can result in spill back onto your foreground subject, causing headaches.
